The Amazon Prime Day Deals That I’m Checking Out

It’s that time of year again, it’s Amazon Prime Day(s), and aside from some really good marketing, the deals are honestly kind of mid. Sure, there are some really great buys, but it really only comes down to whether you’ve been eyeing buying any of the things that are on sale. If you’ve been eyeing a fancy (expensive) electric kettle? It’s on sale, but it’s still a little rich for me. That being said, here are the five Amazon Prime Deals I’m currently checking out.

A Very Cheap Pair of Wireless Earbuds

Don’t get me wrong—I live with my Apple AirPod Pros. I use them with my phone, my iPad, and yes, even my computer as I write this article. That said, there is a place for a cheap pair of active noise-canceling earbuds, and the Soundcore A30i might be the headphones I pick up for $20. Why? Simply because there are times when I need a backup pair of headphones or just want a pair for the gym that I don’t have to worry about losing. The Soundcore A30i fits discreetly in-ear and comes in a very compact charging case – they call it lipstick, I ‘m just happy it fits in the pocket of my gym shorts. Either way, a 60%-off discount might be enough to make me pull the trigger.

Speaking of Apple AirPods

My left ear AirPod Pro is starting to show signs of its age. There’s an inconsistent hum/buzz that comes on from time to time. Randomly, they may even disconnect from whatever they’re paired to or go from 100% battery to 0%, even after being in their charging case all day. That said, it might be time to upgrade and for nearly half off their regular price. You can pick up the Apple AirPod Pro 2 earbuds for $149 during Prime Days – this one seems like a no-brainer, especially if you’re in Apple’s walled-garden ecosystem.

Elevate Your Home Theater Experience

A little while ago, I reviewed the XGIMI Horizon Ultra, and I loved the ability to have a projector that fit with the aesthetics of my home and provided a high-end home theater experience without going broke in the process (even after buying one, you can still afford to go an actual theater if you’d like). If you’ve been looking for a sign to buy that 4k projector, this is it – the XGIMI Horizon Ultra is currently on sale for $1099 (usually $1700).

If You Too Need to Read More

I’m not going to lie – I don’t read enough for pleasure. I’ve used my iPad Mini for years as an ebook reader with very little success. All the other features of my iPad distract me from what I originally set out to do – read books. I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a Kindle, and at $124 (with ads) or $144 (no ads) for a 16GB Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, I think I found it. You could opt for the color option (also on sale for $179), but I’m not quite sure I’m going to commit. So, I’ll cheap out.

Do I NEED to Buy Anything?

Remember when I said that Amazon Prime Day Deals have been kind of mid? Yeah, I’m sticking to that. Now might be the time to buy, but only if they make sense to you. There’s a lot on sale across the various shopping categories (like this BISSELL Little Green carpet and upholstery cleaner that I bought a few months back at full price), but most of what you’ll find are older versions of a newer product that isn’t really on sale. So, if there are items in your “Saved for Later” list, now’s a good time to check to see if you’ll be pulling the trigger. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some earbuds to add to my shopping cart.
